Senior Advisor, Engineering Services / Brewery / Engineer

Job Description:

First Key Consulting requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineer to work on brewery consulting projects around the world, with a particular focus on clients in the USA. The ideal candidate will have a mix of engineering, project management and brewery experience and has no legal impediments to working in various jurisdictions.

This is a great opportunity for a beer industry professional to work on, and travel to, unique projects world-wide with project scope ranging from start-up craft breweries to mid-range and large brewery projects.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for process design, improvement and implementation strategies for both craft and large brewery clients. Duties include process design engineering, utilities design, CAD work, front end planning engineering, production planning, financial reporting, capital planning, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and change management. 

The Brewery Engineer role is based in the USA.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Process)
  • Technical brewery experience in a craft brewery, commercial production brewery or consulting to the brewing industry (minimum eight years)
  • Project management for design and delivery of capital projects (minimum two years)
  • Legally able and willing to travel internationally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to write clear, concise reports and communicate same to clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster internal and external relationships
  • Uses a collaborative and consultative approach
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities; bearing in mind the client’s needs, cost, timeline and practicality
  • Proactive and results driven
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work within the client’s timeline and budget constraints
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Project experience
  • Certificate in Brewing from an accredited brewing and training institution
